As we embark on this thrilling journey of establishing ourselves as a leading international school in Singapore, we are filled with excitement and anticipation for the launch of our new campus in January 2025. This marks a significant milestone in The Perse’s long and storied history, and we are eager to share all the innovative and exciting developments that await our students and community.
A New Campus, A New Beginning
Our new campus, located at 58 Chestnut Drive, is a testament to our commitment to providing top-tier education in an environment that inspires students. Designed with modern learning in mind, our campus will feature:
- Modern Classrooms: Huge classroom spaces equipped with the latest technology to enhance the everyday learning experience.
- Science Labs: Where budding scientists can experiment and discover, we integrate science programming from year 3
- Creative Studios: Dedicated areas for art, music, drama, and more, enabling students to express themselves and grow in confidence.
- Community Garden: For growing fruits, vegetables and herbs, and welcoming our local community.
- Little Chef Lab: Where cooks can learn to be creative and healthy with their food.
- Centre of Excellence for Entrepreneurship: A space for students and the wider community to innovate and learn skills to potentially change the world.
- Football / Sports Pitch: Hosting a range of outdoor sports activities and competitions, the sports pitch will be a beacon of activity for student endeavour and perseverance.
- Multi Sport Courts: For competition and fun playing netball, basketball, badminton, and many more small court sports.
- Running Tracks: Where athletes can hone their speed and endurance, and push their physical limits.
- Outdoor Discovery Area: Spaces around the campus that will encourage curiosity and discovery with nature.
- Multi-purpose Hall: A space for sports, concerts, performances, assemblies and much more that bring the school and community together.
Introducing Our New Leadership Team
We are proud to introduce our dynamic leadership team, whose vision and expertise will guide the school into this exciting new era.
Principal Dan Cross, brings over 24 years of experience from The Perse School Cambridge. Dan joined the school in 2000 as Head of Geography and ended his journey in Cambridge as the Senior Deputy Head. He studied at the University of Exeter, being awarded a degree in Geography before completing his PGCE teaching qualification. He then completed his Masters in Educational Leadership and School Improvement at Jesus College, University of Cambridge. Dan embodies the Perse Way and will be critical to embedding it into the curriculum and culture.
Kephren Sherry, our Head of Pelicans and Junior School, brings extensive experience in international primary education, ensuring our youngest learners receive the best start. Kephren has worked in leaderships positions at start up schools in Malaysia, Japan and the UAE, so is well versed in meeting the needs of diverse student bodies and communities.
Johan Stromsater leads the school as CEO. Johan’s vision is to make top quality education available at a more affordable price in Singapore, and ensure children of all ages can foster a love for learning and a sense of curiosity. Johan has worked in education all over the world, and was most recently the CEO of the Candian International School in Singapore.
A Future-Focused Curriculum
At The Perse School Singapore, we are committed to delivering a curriculum that not only upholds our tradition of academic excellence but also prepares students for the future.
Our new timetabled curriculum will include:
- Cambridge Curriculum: Maintaining high academic standards while being globally recognised.

- Co-curricular activities: Integrating sports, arts, drama and creative opportunities so students gain a holistic education that makes them well rounded

- 3D Teaching Approach: Combining academic excellence, co-curricular activities, and pastoral care, our teachers will develop well-rounded students with a personalized approach.
- Co-curricular and Extracurricular Opportunities: From sports to music, drama, and art, there will be numerous clubs and activities for students to explore their passions in the normal timetable, and afterschool.
- Outdoor Learning and Discovery Garden: Encouraging hands-on learning and a love for nature with on and off campus outdoor experiences, like our Perse Exploration Society that goes on hikes, camping trips and overseas discovery expeditions.

We are also excited about the vibrant and inclusive community we are building here. We value one another and our diverse community through a commitment to kindness, inclusion, and equality. Our new programs and initiatives are designed to support and engage not just our students, but their families as well.
- Diverse Student Inclusivity: Our student body will come from all over the world, celebrating differences and learning from one another. This diversity fosters respect and care for each other, enriching the learning experience for everyone.
- Parental Engagement: We will prioritize communication and integration with our parents, ensuring they have ample opportunities to interact with each other and our teachers. This strong partnership is key to our students’ success and well-being.
- Local Community Connection: We will work closely with local community groups, maintaining a community garden and offering access to our breadth of campus facilities. This collaboration ensures a strong and supportive relationship with our neighbour’s.
